Day 1.1: Rest day in Summerside

With the crazy wind of the previous day over and done with, it was time to rest, relax and recuperate in Summerside and at camp.

After a nice sleep-in, we had breakfast at camp, and rode the quick 8km (5mi) into town for coffee, pastry, food, and beers by the water.

Tasty PEI beers by the water… So much nicer than yesterday’s headwind

When we made our way back to camp, we prepared a delicious dinner, and enjoyed the sights of the campground’s beach and the beautiful weather!

The Linkletter Provincial Park shoreline with the Confederation Bridge to the mainland on the horizon.
The sunset from our campfire was awesome. The mosquitoes, however, were not…

With our rest day done, and feeling much better about our prospects for the trip, we were looking forward to tomorrow’s journey to our first of the four extremities of PEI, West Point!
